Q: What do I wear?
A: Dress as you would for walking around town then bring an extra sweater/sweatshirt and a windbreaker with you. Also useful is a baseball type cap with visor, sunglasses (polarized are best) and sunscreen. Don't forget your camera. If you're "on the fence" about shorts versus long pants... go with the long pants.
Q: May we bring along food and/or alcoholic beverages?
A: Yes, you may bring along a picnic or takeout with beer or wine. We have ice, bottle openers and cups on board.
Q: Do you sail from Bar Harbor?
A: Our sails depart from Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor, only twenty minutes from Bar Harbor.
Q: Is there a bathroom aboard?
A: Yes, but it is very small. There are public rest rooms on or very near the piers from which our boats leave.
Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: Well behaved dogs are permitted on private charters. Out of respect for our other passengers, we do not permit dogs on shared charters.
Q: What is the cancellation Policy?
A: You may cancel your reservation without charge up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. If you cancel within the last 48 hours or fail to show up at boarding, you will be responsible for the full amount of the charter/cruise. Weather related cancellations will be determined by the Captain. If your charter/cruise is cancelled due to weather and we are unable to reschedule the trip to your satisfaction, you will not be charged.
Q: Will we see whales?
A: Minke whales are occasionally seen but of course we can’t plan any wildlife sightings. Finback and Humpback whales rarely come in close to shore here in Maine. Seals and porpoise are seen on almost all of our trips.
